Comet Chorus
Comet Chorus is an extra-curricular activity for fourth and fifth graders who meet before school. They perform at school and throughout the community including school assemblies, local nursing homes, high school sporting events, collaborative feeder school festivals, and evening concerts. The choir season is from September through April.
Comet Cruisers
Our running Club, Comet Cruisers, is for students in third through fifth grade to participate in a morning exercise to get ready for the Jared Coones Memorial Pumpkin Run. Students come together on Monday mornings leading up to the Pumpkin Run to run or walk on the trail behind our school. As a club, we often talk about setting goals, running form, pacing, being respectful of others, and trying our best while we are staying fit.
Math Wings
Math Wings is a before and after-school club that consists of fourth and fifth graders. Students have the opportunity to work in a team or three to problem solve and answer high-level math questions. Math Wings meets from 8:15-8:45 a.m. Fridays to practice math questions similar to the ones they will experience in competitions. There are three regional competitons throughout the year when students have the opportunity to move on to the district level.
